Legislative Finance Committee Meeting  June 11-13 in Las Cruces

Santa Fe, NM – The Legislative Finance Committee will be meeting June 11-13, 2014 at New Mexico State University’s Pan American Center in Las Cruces.

Among several agenda items, committee members will discuss the status of Lower Rio Grande litigation, Lower Rio Grande and San Juan Adjudications and New Mexico Unit Settlement; business development with Davin Lopez, CEO of Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance; and Las Cruces infrastructure with Chuck McMahon, Director of Planning Department for Dona Ana County. Education will also be a topic of discussion as officials from NMSU, the Public Education Department and Las Cruces Public Schools will be presenting to the committee.

Committee Chair Representative Luciano Varela (D-48-Santa Fe) and Co-Chair Senator John Arthur Smith (D-35- Dona Ana, Hidalgo, Luna & Sierra) will be presiding at the meeting.
