Economic and Rural Development Committee Meeting July 7-9

Santa Fe, NM – The Economic and Rural Development Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, July 7-9, 2014 at the Science and Technology Park Rotunda at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Among several agenda items, committee members will discuss using public television as an economic development tool, and the effects of proposed child care center rule changes with Joy Losey, President of the New Mexico Child Care and Education Association and Rebecca Dow, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the AppleTreeEducational Center. They will also discuss job creation, the role of breweries in the state’s economy, and the Economic Development Department’s five year strategic plan.

Committee Chair Representative Debbie Rodella (D-41- Rio Arriba, Santa Fe & Taos) and Vice-Chair Senator Howie Morales (D-28- Catron, Grant & Socorro) will preside at the meeting.
