Indian Affairs Committee Meeting July 14-16

Santa Fe, NM – The Indian Affairs Committee will meet Monday through Wednesday, July 14-16, 2014 in Navajo, Pinedale and Gallup.

Among several agenda items, committee members will discuss senior centers in the Navajo area, rural roads in McKinley County and the Navajo Bi-State Charter School. Members will also discuss the Liver Transplant Feasibility Study with Pam Demarest, Chief Nursing Officer at the University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center. Veteran’s issues will be reserved for the last meeting day as members plan to speak about veteran’s healthcare, homelessness amongst veterans and Veterans Helping Veterans.

Committee Co-Chairs Senator John Pinto (D-3- McKinley & San Juan) and Representative Sandra Jeff (D-5- McKinley & San Juan) will preside at the meeting.
