Legislative Education Study Committee Charter Schools Subcommittee Meeting July 16-17

Santa Fe, NM – The Legislative Education Study Committee (LESC) Charter Schools Subcommittee will be meeting Wednesday and Thursday, July 16-17, 2014 at the Henderson Fine Arts Center, room 9006, at San Juan College, located at 4601 College Boulevard in Farmington following adjournment of the regular LESC meeting.

Among several agenda items, subcommittee members will discuss charter school audits with the State Auditor’s Office and Las Cruces Public Schools. Subcommittee members will also review the New Mexico Attorney General’s opinion regarding the services agreement between the New Mexico Virtual Academy and K12 virtual schools. Other agenda items include an overview of the 2012 and 2013 Legislative Education Study Committee interim reports, and a discussion regarding online learning provisions in other states.

Committee Chair Senator John Sapien (D-9- Bernalillo & Sandoval) will preside at the meeting.
