Legislative Education Study Committee Meeting Thursday and Friday, December 18-19

Santa Fe, NM – The Legislative Education Study Committee (LESC) will meet on Thursday and Friday, December 18-19, 2014, in Room 322 of the State Capitol in Santa Fe.

On Thursday, committee members will discuss General Fund revenue estimates, fiscal year ’16 appropriation requests, the education partner’s legislative package, career technical education, the incorporation of arts into the classroom, and the Voices for Children Report.

On Friday, committee members will discuss the New Mexico Coalition of Charter Schools, the LESC statewide survey on testing, the directors’ report, and LESC-endorsed legislation.

Committee Chair Senator John Sapien (D-9- Bernalillo & Sandoval) and Vice-Chair Representative Mimi Stewart (D-21-Bernalillo) will preside at the meeting.
