Legislative Health and Human Services Committee Meeting October 20-22
Santa Fe, NM – The legislative Health and Human Services Committee will meet on Monday, October 20, at the Santa Claran Hotel, located at 460 N. Riverside Drive in Española. The committee will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21-21, in Room 307 at the State Capitol in Santa Fe.
On Monday, committee members will discuss Pueblo of Jemez experiences with Medicaid Centennial Care, psychiatric medication oversight for children in foster care, grandparents raising grandchildren (SJM 14), and mental and behavioral health programs and services available to Native Americans. On Tuesday, committee members will discuss Medicaid Centennial Care long-term care, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and nursing home reimbursement rates. On Wednesday they will receive updates on Medicaid fraud allegations, the Basic Health Program, and the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX). Wednesday’s agenda also includes discussion about the Medicaid pediatric dental pilot proposal, and New Mexico’s readiness to confront a public health crisis.
Committee Chair Representative James Roger Madalena (D-65- Rio Arriba, Sandoval & San Juan) and Vice Chair Senator Gerald Ortiz y Pino (D-12-Bernalillo) will preside at the meeting.
