Radioactive and Hazardous Materials Committee Meeting July 23

Santa Fe, NM – The Radioactive and Hazardous Materials Committee will meet on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Campus in Lecture Hall 230, located on 4000 University Drive in Los Alamos.

Committee members will discuss the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Waste Drum Characterization Process and the LANL Legacy Waste Cleanup Status. They will also speak with Ryan C. Flynn, the Secretary of Environment, about the Department of Environment (DOE) view, and receive the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Report from Joe Franco,  the Manager of the DOE Carlsbad Field Office. Chromium Contamination Mitigation is also on the agenda.

Committee Chair Senator Peter Wirth (D-25-Santa Fe) and Vice Chair Representative Eliseo Lee Alcon(D-6- Cibola & McKinley) will preside at the meeting.
