Science, Technology and Telecommunications Committee Meeting Thursday and Friday, September 4-5

Santa Fe, NM – The Science, Technology and Telecommunications Committee will meet Thursday, September 4-5, 2014 in Wooton Hall at New Mexico State University (NMSU) located at 2995 Knox Street in Las Cruces.

On Thursday, committee members will discuss the Department of Information Technology (DOIT) project spreadsheet summary, public safety broadband, Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) IT systems, and the Workforce Solutions Department (WSD) information systems. Friday’s agenda includes discussions on state private equity investing for technology commercialization; theSmart Grid Epicenter at NMSU; a New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute (NMWRRI) update; the Spaceport America status report, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education entrepreneurship and STEM diversity; and appropriate technology water treatment systems.

Committee Chair Senator Michael Padilla (D-14- Bernalillo) and Vice Chair Representative Carl Trujillo (D-46-Santa Fe) will preside at the meeting.
