Water and Natural Resources Committee Meeting Thursday and Friday, September 4-5

Santa Fe, NM – The Water and Natural Resources Committee will meet Thursday and Friday, September 4-5, 2014 at the Central Valley Electric Co-Op, located at 1403 N 13th Street in Artesia.

On Thursday, committee members will discuss a New Mexico First report on water issues, disposition of produced water practices, elk population overview and issues with the Department of Game and Fish, the production tax credit fix, and thermal energy and renewable energy portfolio standards. On Friday, agenda items include discussions on industrial hemp production, liability issues for crop mazes, and the Meadow Jumping Mouse and access to water on federal grazing allotments.

Committee Chair Representative George Dodge, Jr. (D-63-Curry, DeBaca, Guadalupe, Roosevelt & San Miguel) and Vice Chair Senator Phil A. Griego (D-39-Bernalillo, Lincoln, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Torrance & Valencia) will preside at the meeting.
