For the Third Time, Martinez Vetoes Much Needed Money for Gallup Detox Center
SANTA FE-For the 3rd time in 4 years, Gov. Martinez vetoed money for the Gallup Detox Center. This came just days after the 25th person in 2 winters died in the cold from alcohol-related exposure in Gallup. “It is sad and disheartening that the Governor continues to oppose spending money on something that could save lives,” said Senator George K. Munoz (D-4-McKinley, San Juan, Cibola). McKinley County has an alcohol-related death rate twice NM’s average and 4 times the national average.
