Legislative Criminal Justice Reform Subcommittee Meeting Wednesday, June 25

Santa Fe, NM – The Legislative Criminal Justice Reform Subcommittee will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in room 321 of the State Capitol in Santa Fe.

Committee members will discuss the problems and costs entailed by mandatory minimum sentencing in New Mexico, and how others states handle those issues. Committee members will also discuss proposals regarding mandatory minimum sentencing and receive the prosecution’s perspective regarding sentencing.

Co-Chairs Representative Antonio “Moe” Maestas (D-16-Bernalillo) and Senator Lisa A. Torraco (R-18-Bernalillo) will be presiding at the meeting.
