Legislative Health and Human Services Committee Meeting Wednesday through Friday,
December 3-5

Santa Fe, NM – The legislative Health and Human Services Committee will meet Wednesday through Friday, December 3-5, 2014, in Room 307 of the State Capitol in Santa Fe.

On Wednesday, committee members will discuss a report on the Interagency Benefits Advisory Committee, managed health care credentialing of health care providers, advance care planning in New Mexico, a report from the Human Trafficking Task Force, and recommendations from the Behavioral Health Subcommittee.

On Thursday, committee members will discuss poverty in New Mexico, the Health Security Act, the NurseAdvice NM Program, expansion of First Choice Community Healthcare services, and pregnant worker accommodation and parental leave.

Friday’s agenda includes a Health Insurance Exchange update, discussion on integrated Medicaid and qualified health plan enrollment, a substitute care review, and legislation for possible committee endorsement.

Committee Chair Representative James Roger Madalena (D-65- Rio Arriba, Sandoval & San Juan) and Vice Chair Senator Gerald Ortiz y Pino (D-12-Bernalillo) will preside at the meeting.
